Three Room Studio Saturday Challenge #76-Use a Punch or a Die

Hello, Friends!  Today we have a new challenge at the Three Room Studio Blog - Use a Punch or a Die.  For this challenge, I went old school and brought out a Fiskars Edge Punch - remember those?  I never purged my punches so I have quite a few in my stash.  They are fun to play with once in a while.  Here's my card:

For today's challenge I used the Lady's Slipper digital image.  I colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers. I cut out the Lady's Slipper, adhering it to a die cut shape.  I used a border punch by Fiskars to punch the edges of two colors of card stock, a light pink and a darker pink.  Using the TRS Rounded Checkerboard Stencil and Distress Oxide, I created a background on the darker pink paper.  Then I glued down the two pink papers to the card base after cutting them down to fit.  I adhered the Lady's Slipper die cut to the card, stamped the sentiment from the Simple Sentiments set and added some sequins from my stash.

Now, check out my fellow Design Team members...

I mad two cards in support of the Ukraine. Hearing of a war is heartbreaking.

I have no words to express my sadness at this event.

Three Room Studio and Black History Month

Hello, friends!  This week we are celebrating Black History Month at Three Room Studio. This month is meant to be a specific time to recognize and celebrate achievements by African Americans and the important roles we have played in the history of this country, roles which have often been ignored or hidden, even to this day.

 Here's my card:

I used my Spectrum Noir Markers to color a heart with the colors of the Pan-African flag - also known as the Afro-American flag.  This flag was designed by Marcus Garvey. To represent Black people, I colored and fussy cut the hands from the Hello Friend stamp set. I adhered the hands to the heart.  I used brown ink to distress a panel of textured card stock from my stash, gluing the panel to a kraft card base. I tucked a sentiment slightly behind the bottom of the heart and finally added some enamel dots.

Please take some time to read up on the contributions African Americans have made to this country. I would dare say that you will discover some amazing facts.

Thanks for visiting!

Masculine Valentine

Hello!  Today I have another masculine Valentine again using the Hero Arts Argyle Background Stamp.  This time I cut hearts from the paper stamped with the argyle pattern.  I made a mini slimline.  Here it is:

This is for our grandson.  I sure hope he likes it.  I enjoyed making it for him.  I stamped the background using Hero Arts Pool Ink on blue card stock.  I cut the various hearts using I've had for years and years.  The front panel was cut using Kat Scrappiness Mini Slim Line Double Stitched Dies and added to my card base after I used a diamond embossing folder from my stash to create a pattern on the navy card stock.  The sentiment is from Kat Scrappiness also - the Quokka Valentine set.  It's heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Argyle Valentine

Hello!  I always need quite a few masculine Valentines and they can be hard to make.  This time I'm using a cool background stamp from Hero Arts - Argyle.

I stamped the background on blue paper,  It's a bit uneven in some places, but I rather like the distressed look.  I used the Love die from the Hero Arts August 2021 MMH kit, cutting each letter 3 times so I could stack them before adhering them to the argyle panel. The "you" is from the stamp set in the kit and it's embossed and then cut out and glued to the panel.  I added some hearts from my stash before adhering the panel to my card base. Finally, I used a Wink of Stella pen to add sparkle to the hearts and the Love sentiment.

Three Room Studio Saturday Challenge #70 - Monochromatic

Welcome, friends!  This week our challenge at Three Room Studio is to use a monochromatic color scheme on your project.  Here's my card:

I used the Welcome Winter set, masking the small trees and stamping them in green ink on a 2-1/2" x 2-3/4" white card stock panel. Then I lightly chalked the area around the trees. I cut a slightly larger white panel and colored the edges with a green Spectrum Noir Marker to match the trees.

Next I cut some white patterned paper from my stash at 5" x 3-3/4" and adhered it to an A2 size card with a horizontal orientation so the fold was at the top. I adhered the tree panel to the green edged panel, and placed them atop the white patterned panel. Finally, I glued them all to the card base and stamped the sentiment.

Valentine Bouquet

Hello, friends.  Today I'm showcasing a Valentine card I made with Kat Scrappiness products.  I think this is really darling.  It was a lot of fun to make.

The background panel is one I created using my gel press.  Then I used the Stitched Hearts Coverplate Die on that panel.  I also used the Layered Tulip Bouquet die, cutting it out twice using two different shades of green card stock.  I cut two sets of tiny hearts using both pink and red paper. The bow was cut from gold mirror paper.  I offset both the leaves and stems before gluing them togethr.  I also offset the hearts with the pink behind the red, each set of two offset slightly differently that the one next to it.  Finally, I heat embossed the sentiment from the KS Valentine Quokka stamp set and added bling from my stash.

Three Room Studio Challenge: Thank You

Hi, there!  We have a new challenge at Three Room Studio this week:  Thank You.  Here's my card using the Coffee Mug digital stamp:

I colored the mug with my Spectrum Noir markers and then cut it out with my ScanNCut2.  I adhered it to a patterned paper scrap from my stash. Then I adhered that to a black panel to provide a small black border. I applied Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink through a stencil to a kraft card base to which I attached the image panel.  Finally I added a sentiment from my stash.

This card was fun to make.  It's perfect for a coffee loving friend, don't you think?

Winter Friend Card

Good day, friends!  Today I am again using the Merry Critters set from Kat Scrappiness.  It's so cute and so versatile!

I created my snow background using the Honey Bee Stamps Snow Day stencil available at Kat Scrappiness.  The snow is from Martha Stewart - Sparkle Texture Effect which I have had for years and years.  The holographic snow bank is from my stash. The sweet little images are colored with my Spectrum Noir markers. I think this turned out cute as can be.

Three Room Studio Saturday Challenge: Winter

Hi, friends and Happy New Year!  It's time for the Three Room Studio Saturday Challenge.  This week's challenge is Winter.

I used the Mitten digital stamp.  I totally challenged myself by learning how to flip the image so that I had a pair of mittens rather than just a single one.  I colored the mittens using my Spectrum Noir markers and then embossed them to give them the appearance of being knitted.  I love that texture.  I used a background cover die for the pattern on the card panel.  Then I sponged Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide onto the center of the panel.  After adhering the mittens to the panel, I added some bling and a sentiment from the Welcome Winter stamp set.

You will want to check out my fellow designers' projects for this challenge:
