613 Anything Goes #155 - Anything Goes

Our new challenge is Anything Goes with No Twist.  Our sponsors are Bugaboo Stamps, The Cutting Cafe and Stamplorations. I used the free digi from Stamplorations. Here it is:

As usual, everything is from my stash. I colored the cup with my Spectrum Noir markers. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the whipped cream is Stickles. It really sparkles :)  The sentiment is Close to My Heart. I popped up the cup and added snow flakes from a mini punch.

Stop by the site to see our winners from the last challenge and the team's awesome inspiration for this challenge.

I will try to come back later and enter some challenges. In the meantime, have a great day!

Challenge #149 Anything Goes w/optional RAK

We have another fun challenge at 613 Avenue Create today - it's Anything Goes, of course, with the option to create a Random Act of Kindness for someone. RAKs are such fun, aren't they? I've used a Rick St. Dennis image, Rag Doll 3 for my RAK. I just love that little rag doll - she's darling. Our DT has some wonderful inspiration for you. Click over to the site - we love when you visit.

I colored the rag doll with my Spectrum Noir markers. It's hard to see, but her pinafore has a coating of clear Wink of Stella. I used a decorative corner rounder on the image and two corners of the card. The sentiment is Close to My Heart. The swirl is Die Namics. The hearts are left overs from another project. The ribbon, cardstock and DP are from my stash.  I just wish I had better camera skills.

613 Avenue Create #147 Anything Goes OR use Subway Art

Hi, friends. This week's challenge at 613 Avenue Create has the option of using Subway Art, which I chose not to use this time. My Anything Goes card features a darling turkey from our sponsor Drawn with Character. The little turkey is so cute, don't you think? Our other sponsor is Bugaboo. You just have to see what the DT has created - the projects are wonderful.  Here's my card:

Everything is from my stash. After coloring the turkey with my Spectrum Noir markers, I cut it out using a paper trimmer.  I distressed the edges with brown ink - I love how uneven the distressing turned out. I also distressed the edges of the kraft card base.  I added orange baker's twine behind the image and popped up the turkey using foam adhesive squares.

I want to add that I've been having issues with my computer lately. My blogging is irregular, but it's been made even more irregular because even when I've posted cards, I come back a day or so later only to find that the post has disappeared. I have no idea why this is happening. I guess I have to check more often to make sure the post has "taken." Oh well...

Anyhoo, have a great day and thanks for visiting with me.

613 Avenue Create #143-Anything Goes-Option Use the Color Sapphire

Hi, there. Here's my card for this week's challenge at 613 Avenue Create- Anything Goes with the Option to use the Color Sapphire.  I used the Beach Time image from our sponsor Flat Friends. Our other sponsor is Rick St. Dennis. Here's my card:

I colored the image with my Spectrum Noirs, and cut it out with scalloped oval Nesties after dusting it with blue chalk. I added a sun sticker and some orange sequins.  Everything is from my stash.

Please be sure to click over to the challenge blog and see the awesome inspiration from the DT. Last week's winners are posted, too - maybe you're one of them!

613 Avenue Create #141-Anything Goes-Option "Love Me Do"

We all know the Beatles...one of my favorite songs is "Love Me Do."  This week our optional twist at 613 Avenue Create is to show us your interpretation of that iconic song. Our sponsors are STAMPlorations, Bugaboo, and Eureka Stamps. Here's my card using Eureka Stamps Heart Frame image.

I embossed the white core cardstock from my stash using a Sizzix embossing folder.  Then I sanded the cardstock so the musical notes would pop.  I colored the digi using my Spectrum Noir markers, added a Close to My Heart sentiment and some orange hearts left over from a previous project. The lacy heart is popped up. The edges of the card are distressed with brown ink. I really like how this turned out, even though there's a bit of a glare which washed out the color somewhat. Please forgive my photography.

I'm entering these challenges:  Crafting with Friends - Anything Goes; Kitty bee Designs #56 - Make Music; and Addicted to Stamps #161- Anything Goes.

Pay us a visit at 613 Avenue Create. We hope to see your entry in our challenge this week!

Joining in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #5

Imagine my surprise when I got back to visiting blogs this morning and saw that Darnell had posted another NBUS Challenge...When I made this card this weekend, I thought of Darnell and NBUS. I bought this darling die months ago, and stored it away. I thought to myself, I should label this NBUS when I post the card on my blog. In fact, I almost posted it yesterday. I guess it was meant to be a NBUS challenge entry - LOL!!

I water colored the background with Worn Lipstick and Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. I cut the background paper down and rounded the corner using a Corner Chomper. The border trim is a Martha Stewart sticker. The sequins and papers are from my stash.  The sentiment is from CTMH.

My NBUS items are the Impression Obsession Coffee Cup Die and the Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.

Here's to you - have a great day and craft your heart out!!

Leaves for Sympathy

Unfortunately, I have made quite a few sympathy cards lately. While it is hard to make these cards at any time, I just cannot make them in advance.  I always make them when I need them.  This is a 6 x 6 square card.  I used my CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge for the frame and leaves. I cut the leaves on white paper and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers. The DPs are from my stash. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart stamp which I fussy cut. The sentiment is a retired CTMH stamp. (Unfortunately, there is a glare on the right side of the card which I didn't realize until just now.)

I stopped entering challenges earlier this year, in May or so.  I also took a break from visiting and commenting on blogs other than for my DT assignments.  I was experiencing some personal issues, some health issues, and some artistic issues. I was generally discouraged and not enthusiastic about my cards. But I'm feeling a somewhat better now, and want to get back to challenges and my blog friends.

So I am entering these challenges:  Craft Your Passion Challenges - Anything Goes; Simon Says Monday Challenge - Stamp & Punch/Die Cut;  Creative Moments - Anything Goes, and Simply Papercraft Challenge - Anything Goes.

I created a water color backing using Distress Inks (Crushed Olive, Dusty Concord and Broken China). Cheerleader Card

Hi, there.  I made a card for my grandniece who will be starting 10th grade at the end of the month. She's a varsity cheerleader again - she made the squad last year as a freshman. She's an amazing young lady who also dances in a competitive dance company, runs track and has excellent grades. Her uncle and I send her a little WAM (Walking Around Money - LOL!) several times throughout the school year.  I happened to see these cheerleader stickers somewhere last year, so I bought them. I thought they looked darling on this center step card.

This was a fun and quick card to make. Her school's mascot is a panther.  I went to the school web site and copied/printed the panther. I had some paw print stickers so I used them also.  Her school colors are red and white, so the sticker set was absolutely perfect. The cheerleader skirt and top are shiny, so there is a bit of a glare that I just couldn't get rid of. Anyhoo, I hope she likes it, and I hope you do too.

613 Avenue Create #137-Anything Goes-No Twist

Good day, friends!  Our latest challenge at 613 Avenue Create has no twist along with our Anything Goes theme. So get crafting and make and share anything you like.  The DT has some great inspiration from our sponsors the All Dressed Up store and the Faery Ink Designs store.  Here's my card using Faery Ink's Snow Love Couple:

I used Spectrum Noir markers.  Everything else is from my stash. I added a bit of sparkle to the image with my clear Wink of Stella - how I love that!  The blue background paper already sparkles. The dies surrounding the cute snow couple are new to me from Spellbinders Nestabilities - Exquisite Circles. I got them at Tuesday Morning months ago at a greatly reduced price.  The sentiment die is also new from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

We hope to see your project soon. Have a wonderful day!

613 Avenue Create #135-Anything Goes-Option Happy Birthday

Hi, friends!  This week's challenge at 613 Avenue Create is Anything Goes with a Happy Birthday option. Our sponsors are the Chubby Mermaid and Melonheadz Illustrations.  I've used the Technology Pack from Melonheadz - the computer is such a cool image, don't you think?!  Here's my card:

I colored the computer with my Spectrum Noirs. It's hard to tell, but it's popped up with foam tape. All papers are from my stash. The stars are leftover die cuts from a previous project. I used a Close to My Heart retired alpha set to create my sentiment and then cut it into a banner shape.

Our challenge this week at 613 Avenue Create is Anything Goes with the option to use our Create Your Own Challenge chart to show the Sights, Sounds & Tastes of Summer. Here's our chart:

I've used Lacy Sunshine's darling Strawberry Flower Pot Pretties.  My card has Sights:  Butterfly and Tastes: Strawberries.

The papers and doily are from my stash.  I used Spectrum Noir markers to color the image and and oval Nestabilities to cut her out.  Hope you like her!

613 Avenue Create #127-Anything Goes-Option Create Something for your BFF

Hi, Friends.  I have been away for a while. But I'm back with our new challenge at 613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes, as always, with the option to create something for your BFF because tomorrow, June 8, is Best Friends' Day!  My BFF is in California. We've been friends forever and a day. We talk frequently, but don't text  or e-mail much except which exchanging pics our our grandchildren.  Here's the card I made for her using Flat Friends' Under the Weather image.

I colored the image using my Spectrum Noir markers. The umbrella is paper-pieced using paper from my stash. I used Fawn Lawn stitched rectangle dies and sequins from my stash. The sentiment is CTMH

I hope you like it. Have a great day!

613 Avenue Create #121-Anything Goes-Option Humorous Sentiment & Freebie

Hello!  Our challenge today at 613 Avenue Create has the option to use a humorous sentiment, something I seldom do, so this is a bit different for me.  We also have some freebie sentiments to add to your collection.  So be sure to check out our site.  Our sponsors are Bugaboo and the Chubby Mermaid Etsy shop.

I've used Bugaboo's Teacup Flowers 2 to create my card:

I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I'm so happy to have discovered them :)  I created the blue background paper by using a Gelato on water color paper - that was fun.  The DP is from my stash. I added some Washi on the left side.  The sentiment is computer generated. I added some clear WOS to the flowers, leaves and tea cup, of course. The clear sequins are from my stash.

I may come back to enter some challenges, but right now I'm in a rush to clean house!  Check you later :)

613 Avenue Create #119-Anything Goes-Option: Create Your Own Challenge

Hi, Crafty Friends! We have a different Create Your Own Challenge Twist to our Anything Goes Challenge this week.  Just use this chart:

Our sponsors this week are Melonheadz Illustrations, Scrapper's Delights and Di's Digi Stamps.  I used an image from Melonheadz Polly Put the Kettle On Combo Pack. This is a delightful tea inspired digi set. I'll be using the other images for sure since I have a thing for tea - LOL!

I made a square card for encouragement (event). My trends are Watercolor, Stencils and Sequins. Using a stencil and water color paper, I sponged distress ink over the stencil. Then I lightly sprayed water through the stencil. I blotted the paper with a paper towel before removing the stencil, after which I used a heat tool to dry the paper. I cut it down to fit my 5x5 card front. The image is colored with Spectrum Noirs and cut with a scalloped oval Nestie die. I inked the edges of the die before popping it up on the card front. The sentiment (also popped up) is from the $1 bin at Michaels - I've had it for years. The sequins are from my stash.

I'm entering these challenges:  Brown Sugar Challenge #141 - Distress; Sister Act Challenge #101 - Anything Goes; and CCEE Stampers 1515 - Stencils.

I hope you find some time to craft today :)

Light It Up Blue for Autism Awareness Blog Hop

This is my second post for the day.  I'm linking up in the Light It Up Blue for Autism Awareness Blog Hop. The theme is Blue. I saw the hop on Tenia Nelson's blog Jazzy Paper Designs.  Tenia is an awesome crafter. I follow her blog and love her designs. Tenia and Veronica Zalis organized this hop. Today is the last day, so I'm running late, but I wanted to participate to help promote autism awareness. I have a wonderful friend whose grandson is autistic.  National Autism Day was April 2. This is another card that I made for our grandson.

All the stamps are Close to My Heart and so is the ink. Papers are from my stash. This is a small card I enclosed with a gift to our wonderful 7th grade.

Be sure to stop by the hop!

Celebrate Spring

Hi, there!  Today I have a card celebrating Spring. It was a fun card to make.

The patterned paper is from my stash.  The paper pieced rainbow and the clouds are from a retired set from Close to My Heart - A Rainbow. I've had it for years and never used it. The sentiment is a wooden block from the $1 bin at Michael's - when the bins contained $1 items - LOL!! I used Distress Ink to create the background. My other inks are Memento. I added a few sequins from my stash for sparkle. Of course, I used clear Wink of Stella on the rainbow.

I am entering these challenges:  NBUS #4  (second entry); CAS-ology #140 - Spring; and Crafty Cardmakers and more - #135 - Spring.

I love this sweet little bear with her Happy Birthday balloon. I colored her using my Spectrum Noirs, which I also used to create her shadow. I used a Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle die to cut out the digi. The patterned papers and card stock are from my stash.  The little birthday hats are darling, don't you think? I added two sequins also from my stash. The balloon has a coat of Clear Wink of Stella. The banners are hand cut from snippets.

Tween Easter Card

Hi, Friends!  Today I'm posting the card I made for our grandson for Easter. He's a tween, so he's not into bunnies. He does love treats, though, so I decided to decorate a cupcake with jelly beans. I just received some stamps from Lawn Fawn. I used the Happy Easter set to make this card. But the cupcake is from a retired CTMH set. Here it is:

Aren't those jelly beans cute - I love them and the tiny eggs. The eggs are colored with Spectrum Noirs. The inks are CTMH. Of course, the frosting has a touch of clear Wink of Stella.

I'm entering these challenges:  Darnell's NBUS #4; Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes; Mema's Crafts - March Anything Goes; Time Out Challenge #27 - CAS - Option Black & White with a Splash of Color; AAA Cards #35 - Bare Naked CAS.

Little Inkers

I was recently the lucky recipient of some blog candy from my friend Virginia Lu. Here is what I received:

I was delighted, of course. I used the Little Inker's set to make a card for my grandson:

I just love the happy little cookie. It's especially appropriate because my grandson and I bake chocolate chip cookies from scratch the night before he returns home in the summer. He says everyone asks about the cookies as soon as they see him.   I embossed the cookie image and colored it with Spectrum Noirs. The card base is embossed also because I didn't have brown card stock.

I'm entering these challenges:  Virginia's View Challenge #13 - Embossing; Little Inker's Monthly Meetup Challenge - Anything Goes; and 7 Kids College Fund #121 - Anything Goes (Option Add Green).

I hope you have a great week.

613 Avenue Create-Anything Goes-Option Caffeine & a Freebie

Here's our new challenge at 613 Avenue Create - Anything Goes with the Option Caffeine. This is National Caffeine Awareness Month. We'd like you to use an image having something to do with caffeine - coffee, tea, soda or chocolate, for example. We also have a freebie for you so be sure to stop by. Our sponsors are the Drawn with Character store - a new sponsor - Bugaboo Stamps, and the Fitztown store. I used a cute image from Bugaboo:

I colored the tea cup and tea bag with Spectrum Noirs and used a scalloped circle Nestability to cut it out. The cookies and sentiment are from retired Close to My Heart sets. The card stock and DP are from my stash.

I'm entering these challenges:  Sister Act Card Challenge #97 - Anything Goes; Crafting from the Heart Challenge Blog #50 - Anything Goes; and Through the Craft Room Door March 10-16 - Anything Goes.

I hope you have a great day!

Beach Scene

Hi, All! My card today is also for my husband. We're longing for Spring and Summer. We love Georgia, but we miss our California beaches which were so close. This is the card I gave him for his birthday:

I sponged the background and added some glitter where the water met the sand. I used Distress inks, but don't remember which ones. The cute little beach chair is a die from Obsession Impression. The umbrella is a stamp which I fussy cut. I stamped the greeting on a cloud stamp. My star fish are a bit too perfect, but my attempts to draw them and cut them out looked pitiful so I used dies.

These are the challenges I'm entering:  CASology #137 - Tropical; Simon Says Monday Challenge - B is For... (Beach for my card); and Happy Little Stampers March CAS Challenge - Sponging.

Happy Crafting, Friends!

613 Avenue Create #114-Anything Goes-Option Use Aquamarine

It's an amazingly beautiful day here in Georgia. The sun is shining and the birds are singing. It feels wonderful. But we have rain in the forecast for the rest of the week. No matter, I'm enjoying the warmth and the promise of  Spring. But I digress...

Our challenge at 613 Avenue Create this week has the option to Use Aquamarine - the birthstone of March. Our DT has some gorgeous inspiration using sponsor images from A Day for Daisies and Doodle Pantry. You'll be happy when you check them out.  I hope you have a wonderful day and week!!!

Lighthouse Birthday Card

Wow for me - two posts in two days!  Today I'm displaying a card for our neighbor, my husband's golf buddy.

The image is from Our Daily Bread - I've used it before. I colored the image with Distress Markers. Actually, this is the first time I've successfully colored with them. I've tried and tried before, but was never happy with the result. But this time, something clicked. I cut the image with an oval Nestie and added some Washi on the side. The sentiment is CTMH.

I'm entering the following challenges:  Addicted to CAS #58 - Code Distress; Seize the Birthday  - Masculine; and A Gem of A Challenge #139 - Clean and Simple.

I'm happy to be posting again :)

Hi, Friends. It's been a while since I've posted anything other than DT assignments. It's also been some time since I've visited my friends' blogs and commented on them.  I've had a few issues and things to deal with, but I think I've got a handle on them now.  You know how it is when stuff happens and gets in the way of your plans. I hope I can post more regularly now.

This is a card for my wonderful hubby.

Hi, crafty friends!  You will probably be amazed at my project today.  Amazed because I did not make a card or a tag.  I made a door hanger - I amazed myself - LOL!!  Our challenge is Anything Goes as usual, with a birthday option. I did not specify happy birthday on my hanger. I intend to hang it on the guest room door when our grandson visits. I will put some candy and gum in the hanger to welcome him. The door hanger is a Cricut cut and the image is Bugagoo - I just love the Bugaboo stick figures - they are too cute!!

The DP and card stock are from my stash. I cut out the image using a Fawn Lawn stitched rectangle die. The basketball stamp is from the $1 bin (back when it was only $1) at Michaels. I used Spectrum Noir markers and Close to My Heart ink.

It doesn't show well in the photo, but background is dusted with green chalk  The hand cut banner in the right corner is green also. I colored the flower with my Spectrum Noirs and cut it out with a Nestie. It's mounted on a piece of DP cut with a stitched rectangle die from Fawn Lawn. The Washi and all papers are from my stash.

Dance Thanks

This card is for a fellow member of my Praise Dance Ministry at church.  She arranged a group outing for us, and we wanted to thank her.  It's clean, simple and easy.  I don't know the name of the embossing folder. The image is from Robert Jackson - I decided it look great uncolored. The sticker is SRM. The cardstock and bling are from my stash. I chose blue and white because they were the colors for our Women's Week.

I'm entering these challenges:  Brown Sugar #132- Anything Goes; Sister Act Card Challenge #92- Any Goes; and 7 Kids College Fund #118- Anything Goes.

Have a lovely day!

You Have to be my Friend...

This is my second post today. I wanted to enter CASology's Challenge for week 130 - Friend.  I've had this stamp for years and have never used it. I bought it with my best friend in mind.  We have been friends since we were 9 years old. Now we're grandmothers together, so you know this sentiment is oh so true!

I used water color paper and embossed it with dots. Then I wet the paper and painted it with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink.  I stamped the sentiment in Hero Arts Orange Soda ink. The flowers were cut with a die, but I don't know what it is. I inked the edges of the flowers and added a bit of bling. All paper is from my stash.

I'm also entering 4 Crafty Chicks #230 - Best Friends and Uniko Studio Challenge #17 - Love & Friendship.

Our sponsors are Fitztown and Sammi Stamps. I've used Sammi Stamps Snowflake Cocoa. You'll want to see what the rest of the team has created. And you'll want to see who won prizes last week, both from our challenge and our Block Party.

I colored the cup with Spectrum Noir Markers. The DP and steam are NBUS.  I'm entering these challenges:  CraftyHazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge-January; Darnell's NBUS Challenge #3 (my third entry); and Addicted to Stamps #96 - Winter.

Have a great day!

Spray Mist and Distress Ink

Hi, Ya'll! It's another cold winter day here in Georgia - 43 degrees.  We've had a lot of fog this week and some rain also. But I'm not complaining because it's not snowing. I had to make a sympathy card. I decided to try something new - color spray. I got some Recollections spray on clearance several months ago. I've never used it before, but I like it. I also used some Distress Ink and water colored a piece of Tim Holtz Water Color Paper from which I cut the sentiment using a Nestie. Since the spray and Tim Holtz paper were NBUS (Never Been Used Schtuff), I'm entering Darnell's NBUS Challenge #3 for the second time. I'm also entering Virginia's View Challenge #11 - Clean Slate for the second time. Also, I'm entering Simon Says Monday Challenge - Inky Background, Stamplorations Inks and Stamps, and Happy Little Stamper Watercolouring.

I hope you have a great day!

Feel Better

Brrr! It's cold as all get out here this morning.  With the wind chill, it's 10 degrees...I hope you're enjoying better weather than we are, but I know a lot of you are not. Try to stay warm. I'm posting a feel better card for a friend who's just a bit under the weather. It's a quick and easy card:

The cascading hearts are from my new Confetti Stencil from Heidi Swapp. The stencil also has hearts and dots. I used a dobber and Spun Sugar Distress Ink.  The tea pot is from a Graphic 45/Hampton Art/Sizzix stamp and framelits set. I stamped it on paper from my stash and popped it up. The sentiment is PaperTrey Ink. I added sequins from my stash.

Since the stamp/die and Distress Ink are NUBUS (Never Been Used Schtuff) that I've had for over a year, I'm entering Darnell's NUBUS Challenge #3. I'm also entering Virginia's View Challenge #11-Clean Slate and Simon Says Monday Challenge (Old & New). I've told you the old, the new is the stencil. I just bought it about a week or so ago. I'm also entering Just Us Girls #275-Trend Week Stencil.

613 Avenue Create #105-Anything Goes Option Create Matching Envelope

Our first challenge of 2015 at 613 Avenue Create is, of course, Anything Goes. Our twist is that you have the option to Create a Matching Envelope. A matching envelope is the frosting on the cake of the presentation of your card. Our sponsors are Lacy Sunshine and Scrapper's Delights. Here I'm using Lacy Sunshine's Honeysuckle Rose - isn't she darling?!

I colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers.  Everything is from my stash. I splattered the cardstock with Broken China Distress Ink,  I have something to say about that - it wasn't easy! I have watched blogger after blogger on YouTube squish a distress ink on her craft sheet, add water, dip in a paint brush, and creatively splatter cardstock.  But when I gave it a try, the splatters didn't come. Then, when they did come, they didn't hit the cardstock. Finally, success of sorts. All in all, a whole lot of effort for some little spots on paper. End of that story.

I dusted the image, cardstock and envelope with chalk so they weren't bright white. I added some sequins for a bit of sparkle. The flower on the envelope is a small Sizziz die cut. I'll be back later to enter some challenges.

And don't forget our 2nd Annual Block Party starts next week. It will be awesome!!

Have a wonderful day!
