An Easter Card

Hi, there!  It's the day before Easter.  This past 2 weeks, I have been quite busy making Easter cards for my family.  Usually, I only send a few.  But this year I decided to include my sisters and other adult family members - nieces and nephews.  I made a few duplicate cards to make it a bit easier for me.  Here's one that went to our grandson:

The image and sentiment are from Sunny Studio. Finally, I have the word "grandson" in a stamp set.  I sponged the background with Distress Ink.  The eggs are colored with Spectrum Noirs and then fussy cut.  It's hard to see in the photo, but I added a shadow under the egg carton.  This is a quick and easy card.

I will be back later to enter some challenges.

Card stock:  Recollections 60 lb and 110 lb
Stamps:  The Good Egg (from Sunny Studio); Shadows (from Paper Smooches)
Shadow:  Paper Smooches
Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Hero Arts Wet Cement, Broken China Distress Ink
Spectrum Noir Markers:  LG1, 2; PL1, 2; CR1, TB1; LY1, 2; HB1, IG1, 2

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog #298 - Easter

Our challenge at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog this month has an Easter theme.  You'll want to click over to the blog and see the inspiration from our DT.  We hope you join the challenge so you have a chance to win a cool prize.

To qualify for the prize, you must use at least one Cricut cut on your project.  If it's not obvious, please tell us which cartridge you used.  If you use a Cricut Explore, at least one cut must be from the Cricut catalog of images.  And if your project is not a card, you will get two entries in the prize drawing.

I made a clean and simple card as is my usual style. This was fun to make and took very little time.

I'm making more Easter cards this year than I have in past years.  I will make multiples of some cards, something I don't do a lot.  But I need to keep it simple and time is definitely running out to get cards in the mail.  I'm looking forward to sending more happy mail than usual.  Do you send lots of cards for Easter?

All the cuts were made from snippets of paper I had in my scrap basket.  I just hate to throw away card stock and DP.  The clouds were actually cut years ago and saved!  How's that for being thrifty?  (Thrifty sounds better than hoarding - LOL!)

Cricut Cartridges:  Welcome Spring (umbrella); Art Philosophy (eggs); Artbooking (grass); Artiste (clouds)
Stamps:  Sunny Studio (A Good Egg)
Inks:  Broken China Distress Ink; Close to My Heart (Pear)
Card Stock:   Recollections 110 lb and 60 lb

613 Avenue Create #196-Anything Goes-Option Spring

It's April and Spring!  This month at 613 Avenue Create we've added the option of Spring Has Sprung to our Anything Goes Challenge.  I'm so happy the season has changed, and the weather is improving for the moment, at least where I am .  The days are longer and the sun seems brighter.  All in all, Spring puts me in a happy mood.

I've made an Easter card for this month.  Usually, I only make a few Easter cards.  This year, I've decided to make more for family and friends.  Here's my first:

I actually colored the sweet little bunny for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge  (which just ended) and put her away until now.  This is something totally new for me.  I have never colored images in advance of making a card.  I rather like going into my special box and pulling out an already colored image.  I believe I'll do more of it in the future.  Thanks to Kathy R, I have a stash of colored images - yay!!

Of course, I used my Spectrum Noirs.  I lightly chalked the area around the image and rounded the corners.  I used a stencil to create the background with Distress Ink.  I inked up the sentiment and adhered it.  Finally I added some sequins.

Card stock:  Recollections 110 lb and 60 lb
Spectrum Noir Markers:  LV1; LY 1, 2 & 3; PL1 &2; BG1, 2 &3; PP1; FS6 &8; DG3
Stamps:  Close to My Heart Sensational Season (bunny) & Say It in Style (sentiment) - both retired
Inks:  Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink and Memento Tuxedo Black
Sequins:  My stash
Stencil:  Heidi Swapp
