Hi, All! My card today is also for my husband. We're longing for Spring and Summer. We love Georgia, but we miss our California beaches which were so close. This is the card I gave him for his birthday:
I sponged the background and added some glitter where the water met the sand. I used Distress inks, but don't remember which ones. The cute little beach chair is a die from Obsession Impression. The umbrella is a stamp which I fussy cut. I stamped the greeting on a cloud stamp. My star fish are a bit too perfect, but my attempts to draw them and cut them out looked pitiful so I used dies.
These are the challenges I'm entering: CASology #137 - Tropical; Simon Says Monday Challenge - B is For... (Beach for my card); and Happy Little Stampers March CAS Challenge - Sponging.
Happy Crafting, Friends!
Hi!Very beautiful card!!!All summer!!
ReplyDeleteGreat beach scene Sheila. Love your sponged background ... such pretty colours and love the bit of sparkle. Thanks for playing along at Happy Little Stampers.
ReplyDeleteLove the beach edge with the glitter - fun card~
ReplyDeleteOh this is hot & cool! Love the bright blues & orange...perfect beach colors. The glitter at the waterline was a brilliant design touch, it looks like breaking waves with the sun sparkling. Love the IO die (I have it, a NBUS!) - It's perfect on this wonderful card, and of course the big umbrella to keep that hot sun off! Spring will soon be here. I understand we're to get some more cold rain tomorrow. This oughta do it for the winter I hope! TFS & Hugs.
