613 Avenue Create Challenge #194 - Getting Sentimental

Hello, my friends!  Welcome to our February Challenge at 613 Avenue Create.  We have the option to use the color blue and make the sentiment the focal point. You'll want to see the DT projects.  They are great.  Here's my card:

I made my own background paper by using a sponge dauber to put the distress ink circles on white card stock. Then I blended the same distress ink all over the panel. I added baker's twine and a banner made from Washi tape. The sentiment was die cut from a paint chip. This is a clean and simple card for my grandson - big surprise there!

Card stock:  Recollections
Ink: Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink
Die:  Kudos by Paper Smooches
Washi Tape:  My stash

Challenges:
Darnell's NBUS #10 (NBUS=Die (a 4 part die; one part used in NBUS #9)
Happy Little Stampers February CAS Challenge - Blue
Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #302 - Anything Goes

613 Avenue Create #121-Anything Goes-Option Humorous Sentiment & Freebie

Hello!  Our challenge today at 613 Avenue Create has the option to use a humorous sentiment, something I seldom do, so this is a bit different for me.  We also have some freebie sentiments to add to your collection.  So be sure to check out our site.  Our sponsors are Bugaboo and the Chubby Mermaid Etsy shop.

I've used Bugaboo's Teacup Flowers 2 to create my card:

I colored the image with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I'm so happy to have discovered them :)  I created the blue background paper by using a Gelato on water color paper - that was fun.  The DP is from my stash. I added some Washi on the left side.  The sentiment is computer generated. I added some clear WOS to the flowers, leaves and tea cup, of course. The clear sequins are from my stash.

I may come back to enter some challenges, but right now I'm in a rush to clean house!  Check you later :)

Lighthouse Birthday Card

Wow for me - two posts in two days!  Today I'm displaying a card for our neighbor, my husband's golf buddy.

The image is from Our Daily Bread - I've used it before. I colored the image with Distress Markers. Actually, this is the first time I've successfully colored with them. I've tried and tried before, but was never happy with the result. But this time, something clicked. I cut the image with an oval Nestie and added some Washi on the side. The sentiment is CTMH.

I'm entering the following challenges:  Addicted to CAS #58 - Code Distress; Seize the Birthday  - Masculine; and A Gem of A Challenge #139 - Clean and Simple.

I'm happy to be posting again :)

613 Avenue Create #110-Anything Goes-Option Color Bingo

Hi, there!  Today we've got a new variation on our Create Your Own Challenge theme - Color Bingo! Here's the chart to use:

Our sponsors are Aliciabel.com and Inky Impressions. I've used Inky Impressions Warm Hello Circle and the first line across on our chart - blue, yellow and green.

It doesn't show well in the photo, but background is dusted with green chalk  The hand cut banner in the right corner is green also. I colored the flower with my Spectrum Noirs and cut it out with a Nestie. It's mounted on a piece of DP cut with a stitched rectangle die from Fawn Lawn. The Washi and all papers are from my stash.

I'm entering a few challenges:  CAS On a Sunday #51 - Flowers; Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - All Things Bright and Beautiful; and Brown Sugar Challenge #132- Anything Goes.

Teen Birthday Card

Hello, Friends. Today I'm showing you a card I made for my niece's 13th birthday. She received a white iPhone when school started and told me, "I got an iPhone, and I love it!"  So when I saw this Kelly Purkey iPhone die at Simon Says, I bought it with her birthday in mind.  Here's the card:

The DP, Washi  and bling are from my stash.  The stamps and ink are CTMH. The flower is a punch that belongs to a friend. I had a lot of fun making this card, and my niece loved it.

I'm entering these challenges:  The Card Concept #6 - Birthday (my card is Clean & Layering); Alphabet Challenge Blog - D for Diecuts; Delicious Doodles Challenge #81 - Mother's Day or a Special Female.

I can't wait to use this cute die again!

Valentine for my Husband

Today I'm posting the valentine I made for my husband.  (He doesn't look at my blog so it's ok for me to post it before I give it to him.)  I think the black music notes and red twine on the heart make a bold and masculine statement.

The kraft card base is CTMH as are the red/blue DP (die cut) and sentiment.  There is a stripe of washi tape behind the die cut heart.  I lightly distressed the heart with brown ink. The music DP is from my stash as are the sequins and string. I actually popped up the sequins instead of gluing them flat. The sequins have Viva Pearl Pen in the center.
.
The sentiment inside is computer generated and says "You make my heart sing."  I think my husband will like it.

I'm entering these challenges:  Simons Says Wednesday Challenge - Get Krafty; Addicted to CAS #31 - Love; Casology- Bold.

I hope you have a great day.  Our day in Georgia is finally looking good.  We lost power 4 times between last night and this morning.  I awoke to see snow falling at 8 am.  By 1:00 pm, the sun was out, and the snow melting.  Tomorrow should be even better :)

613 Avenue Create #57-Anything Goes, Option Use Felt

Good day!  613 Avenue Create has a new challenge - Anything Goes with the option to USE FELT. There's a story behind the blue felt that I used for my card.  It was a left over scrap from the felt I used to create favors for my daughter-in-law's baby shower when she was pregnant with our one and only grandson.  I made sweet little blue pillows, edged with ribbon and with a cute little baby themed button in the center.  (I have one in with our Christmas decorations.)

I used the Digital Stamp Ice Blend image from our sponsor Milk Coffee.  I hand cut the felt heart. The image is colored with Bic markers and popped up. The card stock, sequins and Washi tape are from my stash. The heart stamp and sentiment are CTMH.  The ink is Memento. It's hard to see in the picture, but the heart on the image, the chocolate ice blend and straw have a coating of clear Wink of Stella. The cover of the cup has Martha Stewart glue glitter.

I'm coming back later to enter some challenges.  Check out 613 Avenue Create and have a great day!

613 Avenue Create #51-Anything Goes-No Twist

We know that everyone is probably caught up in last minute holiday preparations, so we've made our challenge this week a simple one - Anything Goes with no twist. So if you need to relieve a little holiday stress, craft anything you like and submit it.  Our sponsors this week are the fabulous Rick St. Dennis and The Paper Shelter.  One easy way to make quick last minute cards is to use a pre-colored digi, which is exactly what I did using The Paper Shelter's Christmas Candy Fairy:

The card stock and DP are from my stash.  I used Nestabilites.  For the bows, I covered white card stock with Washi tape and then used a Martha Stewart punch.  The tiny sentiment is from SRM Stickers and was gifted to me by the fabulous Virginia Lu.

I'm entering these challenges:  Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge #156 - Last Minute Cards or Any Not Shown Already;  Digi Designs Challenge Blog - Anything Goes Christmas Challenge; and Crazy for CAS #34 - Anything Goes.

613 Avenue Create #41 - Anything Goes/Option Pile It On

Today's challenge at 613 Avenue Create has the option of Pile It On. This doesn't come easy to me.  I'm a CAS crafter through and through.  I colored the cute Tilly the Dinosaur from Lacy Sunshine with Distress Inks and Distress Markers, then used a Nestabilities die to cut it out.  I added a cloud brad, two types of Washi tape, two buttons with thread and a sentiment.  That's a lot for me to put on a card :)

Everything is from my stash.  I'm having fun using what I have.  I've entered these challenges:  Brown Sugar Challenge Blog: Anything Goes; Totally Papercrafts: 1 image, 2 papers, 3 embellishments.

I hope you have a great day!

Back to School Card for Our Grandson

This is my second post today because I want to enter a couple of challenges.  I created this card for our grandson.  He's excited to be in the 6th grade this year.  So Granny and Grandpa sent him this card with a little something special in it.

I love that sheet of composition paper.  I used my new CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge to cut it.  I stamped the lines on it and the sentiment with the Take Note stamp set, part of the Cricut bundle of stamps that comes with the cart. Isn't it adorable?  I finished it off with Washi tape and punched stars.  The ink and DP are from CTMH.

I'm entering these challenges:  Sassy Studio Designs - Back to School; MilkCoffee Challenge - Back to School; and Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Back to School.

Good morning!  I'm entering the current RIC challenge - look at the inspiration photo:

And here's my card:

The gray cardstock is from my stash as are the sequins.  I colored the sequins with a Sharpie. I used a Martha Stewart punch and Target Washi Tape.  The sentiment is CTMH For Every Occasion.

I've also entered this card in a new challenge blog 4 Krafty Girlz Challenges - Anything Goes, and Addicted to Stamps and More! - Anything Goes.

613 Avenue Create Challenge #33

Hi, there!  Today our Anything Goes Challenge at 613 Avenue Create has the optional twist of Stitching - Real or Faux.  Our sponsors are Beansie Doodles and Rick St. Dennis. My card has faux stitching.  I used Beansie Doodles Frog Prince image.

I printed the frog image on DP and cut it out.  Then I printed it on white paper and cut out the crown, coloring it with a Marvy gold pen.  The card stock and DP are from my stash. I rested the frog on a strip of Washi tape.  I added bling to his crown and put a rhinestone heart over the heart that is a part of the image.  I added the stitching and some small sticker flowers. The sentiment is CTMH.  Isn't he a cute frog?

Be sure to visit 613 Avenue Create for last weeks winners and inspiration from the DT.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a good day!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge

Hi, there!  I don't know what's come over me.  I'm entering another challenge that I found out about on my friend Virginia's blog.  I'm entering the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge Watermelon Wonder.  I was drawn to it by the inspiration photo.  I'm attempting to expand my horizons as it were by entering more challenges. Those with a photo inspiration both intrigue and scare me because it's totally up to the participant as to what to create.  Here's the inspiration photo:

And here's my card using the less dominate colors of green and yellow.  The lemon doesn't appear very yellow in the photo, but it's stamped on yellow paper and popped up.

Stamps:  Sublime Citrus - Fresh Squeezed Stamps; Inks: CTMH Lagoon & Topiary; Cardstock & Bling: My stash; Washi Tape: Recollections.

I had fun making this card.  Hope you like it!
