Summer Hello

Today I have a bright and sunny card that I had a lot of fun making. I used a technique I have been seeing all over card blogs lately - inlaying a die cut. It was so easy. I also made my own background paper using a Heidi Swapp stencil. I really love that Big Hello die from Simon Says Stamps. Here it is:

For the background I used Versa Magic Chalk Inks: Pink Grapefruit, Mango and Key Lime. I used some pink paper from my stash and cut the hello out twice, stacking them before inlaying the word. I also used a Memory Box Hearts & Stars die to cut 3 yellow hearts which I coated with CTMH'S Liquid Glass to make them shine. It's hard to see in the picture, but the 3rd heart is below the "h." Also, IRL the bottom portion of the panel is green - Key Lime. It looks yellowish here. I mounted everything on a gorgeous cantaloupe colored card base given to me by a friend. I love the sunny colors.

I'm entering these challenges:  Virginia's View Challenge #5 - Use a Die;  Moxie Fab World - Wonderful Words Challenge; Sister Act Card Challenge #64- Anything Goes; Brown Sugar Card Challenge #101 - Anything Goes.

I hope you had a fun filled 4th of July. Now enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

CAS Card

This evening I worked on a single card for two CAS challenges - Less is More (#76 - one layer, three of anything) and Cas-ual Fridays (CFC 61- use strips of color or pattern).  I've never entered a challenge at either of these sites, although I look at them every week.  So I got up my nerve, finally, and decided to enter:

Supplies:  Cardstock: my stash; Inks: CTMH Pear and Dutch Blue, Versa Magic Spring Pansy; Stamps: CTMH Live Life (Lucky Workshop of the Month), True Friends.

I like the script detail on the parenthesis. The middle one is Spring Pansy, a lavendar color. It shows up darker in real life than in the photo.  I love the colors.  It could be for a man or a woman, and I could easily use a different sentiment.  I think this design is very versitile.

One Layer Wednesday 92

I've entered the OLW Challenge. This time we were to stamp to the edge, but not over. It's not easy to see in the photo, but the flower centers have Stickles which look quite nice in real life, and there are gems next to each bouquet on the end of the card.  A little bling is a good thing, don't you think?

Supplies:  Recollections CS; Inks:  Versa Magic Chalk Perfect Plumeria; Stamps:  CTMH From Me to You, Inkadinkado Wedding/Marriage; Diamond Stickles; bling.
