I said I would try again, and I did...Here's my latest attempt at the hidden word technique. I saw so many great examples on Darnell's blog and on the internet that really inspired me to give it another go. This time I'm really pleased.
One thing that I would have done differently if I dared would have been to add some splatter. I was really afraid that if I tried, I would mess up the image. As it was, this is my second rendition of this card. I inadvertently used some inky Post-It tape to hold down my die. When I removed the tape, there were several smudges on the panel - smudges that I couldn't hide. So I had to re-stamp another panel.
Anyhoo, I'm glad I persevered. It felt really good to finish this card. I only wish my photography and computer skills were better. I actually cropped the picture so the candle it's sitting on didn't show. I did it twice, but even though I "saved" it, only the original picture showed up in my card folder. So I gave up. Do you feel my pain????

This is very pretty. Good idea to put the spot of blue behind the 'b'.
ReplyDeleteGlad you persevered as this is just 'beautiful'! Your imbedded sentiment looks lovely across the text stamping and your colors are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you persevered Sheila cause this came out great!!! I love that image you used and I love the color of ink you used. Your "beautiful" die....well is just beautiful! It is hidden, but yet you can see it. Splatters would have been nice, but not necessary besides I don't blame you for not wanting to mess this one up!! Photography skills are hard for me too Sheila so yes, I feel your pain! Your pictures that you saved might have saved in another folder. Try looking in other folders and see if they are there. You usually pick where you want it to save to, at least I do. Love, love, love your beautiful card! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely on a kick with hidden messages! This card is a gem! Love the monochromatic theme with the image! Lovely job, Sheila! Thanks so much for playing Simon Says Stamp Wednesday “Anything Goes” Challenge! Beautiful colors and design. Well done!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, love the inset die cut and the stamp used and the colour. It has all come together perfectly, love it.

You succeeded admirably on this pretty card (but then I liked your other one too!) Love the delicate colors here, and I like the design of the card very much. I hear you about the spatters. I just get blobs! If you're like me, the last thing you add, you end up thinking "Why did I do that?". Great work on the hidden technique too! Glad you perservered! TFS
ReplyDeleteFabulous technique! Will have to try this!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing with Happy Little Stampers!

YAY! Way to go, Sheila!! I'm sorry you had to do a second one, but I'm so glad you didn't give up! This turned out beautifully! And, yes, I feel your pain! I saw that Brenda mentioned to watch "where" the computer wants to save the changes, but also make sure you give it a brand-new name, like add an "A" or "1" after whatever the computer names it. You prolly already know that! Thank you so much for playing in my NBUS Challenge #9 and joining in the optional theme! Thank you also for your kind get well wishes and prayers! I’m doing great, considering ~ way behind, but great! Hugs, Darnell
