Our first challenge of 2015 at 613 Avenue Create is, of course, Anything Goes. Our twist is that you have the option to Create a Matching Envelope. A matching envelope is the frosting on the cake of the presentation of your card. Our sponsors are Lacy Sunshine and Scrapper's Delights. Here I'm using Lacy Sunshine's Honeysuckle Rose - isn't she darling?!
I colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers. Everything is from my stash. I splattered the cardstock with Broken China Distress Ink, I have something to say about that - it wasn't easy! I have watched blogger after blogger on YouTube squish a distress ink on her craft sheet, add water, dip in a paint brush, and creatively splatter cardstock. But when I gave it a try, the splatters didn't come. Then, when they did come, they didn't hit the cardstock. Finally, success of sorts. All in all, a whole lot of effort for some little spots on paper. End of that story.
I dusted the image, cardstock and envelope with chalk so they weren't bright white. I added some sequins for a bit of sparkle. The flower on the envelope is a small Sizziz die cut. I'll be back later to enter some challenges.
And don't forget our 2nd Annual Block Party starts next week. It will be awesome!!
Have a wonderful day!
So cute - I love matching envies I just never do it! :)
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable, and I love the coloring too! You've got it down! I laughed reading about the splatters. Don't they look so easy in the video? Mine always blob! (and not creative looking blobs either..just BLOBS). Yours turned out very attractive and made a real pretty envelope. Another gracious custom touch to a pretty handmade card. Thanks so much for the sweet & pretty NYear's card. We LOVED it! Hope we both can get to the Feb. Heirloom show, and perhaps meet up again. TFS & Hugs. We had sunshine today - so thankful for that - but a bit brisk.
ReplyDeleteSheioa this is so cute. I am loving the splatters, well done.

Great spatter job! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable! I just want to pinch her cute little cheeks. And those splatters in the background? Perfection.
