Hi, there! I have another card today, and I'm so happy to be able to post it. Our house phone and internet were down for 4 days this week due to a lightning strike. I was lost without the internet. I am so glad things are back on track now. I made this card a few days ago.
The DP is from scraps from my stash. Using plain scrap cardstock, I hand cut a 4 inch (I think) square to make my pinwheel. Then I stamped the background on one side of the paper using a CTMH stamp. I cut towards the middle from each corner. When it came to gluing it down in the middle, I couldn't (and still can't) find my glue dots. Fortunately, I had some excellent liquid glue and got it done. I just hope those darn glue dots would show up soon...For some reason the sentiment (also CTMH) is showing as pink in the photo, but it's stamped in the same orange ink that I used on the pinwheel. Go figure...
I think pinwheels were a big rage a while back, but I never made one then. I can be slow to catch on to trends - LOL!
I'm entering these challenges: Addicted to CAS #45- Geometric; Sister Act #71 - Anything Goes; and Simon Says Monday Challenge - Anything Goes.
A perfect sentiment for a pin-wheel design - love the bold colours and patterns too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining us at the ATCAS geometric challenge. Sylvia.
Such a sweet pinwheel Sheila. Love the design you've stamped on it and the matching button for the center. Perfect sentiment to so with your card. Thanks for joining us at ATCAS.
ReplyDeleteFabulous pinwheel card!

I love the bold graphics. Stunning design! Thank you for sharing your work with us this week for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. ~Michelle
ReplyDeleteSheila, I'm always late on trends myself (or else ahead of them, when I'm looking for colors for something in the house!). I love this pinwheel (have never even thought of trying to make one!), and that bold stripe paper behind the pinwheel really enhanced the design. I liked the way you've laid out the papers too. I'm happy I'm not the only one whose stuff hides from them. This is a terrific card, and you're branching out on your designs too. Lovely to see that. Happy week ahead, and TFS & Hugs too.
ReplyDeleteI can be slow to jump on band wagons too Sheila. lol I love your pinwheel card and I think pinwheels are still pretty popular. Love your stamping that you did on the pinwheel and love that sentiment. Isn't it funny how the colors change in photo's?! That always bugs me, but it is what it isn't. lol Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteI like this one thanks for joining us at sisteract and I hope to see more from you

Glad your internet is up and running. I feel so lost when ours goes out too. Thankfully it's never been for more than a couple of hours, but it makes me wonder how we survived without it in the past. LOL
ReplyDeleteI love the pinwheel card. Pinwheels remind me of spring. I just imagine them blowing in the wind.
this is really nice! love that big pinwheel
ReplyDeleteGreat creative card Sheila - that sentiment is absolutely perfect! Thanks for joining us at ATCAS.
