613 Avenue Create #208-Anything Goes-Option ATG/Vellum

Happy Easter!  It's the first day of April and we have a new challenge at 613 Avenue Create.  Our Anything Goes has the option of using vellum on your project.  Be sure to click over to the blog to see what the DT has made and who won the last challenge.  Maybe it was you!

I decided to use vellum on a sympathy card.  We all know sympathy cards can be very hard to make for a multitude of reasons.  I usually make them on an as needed basis.  However, I finally decided to make a few in advance. This one was made using a die that I borrowed from a friend when we were crafting together.

The background is sponged with a stencil.  Then I cut it using a rectangle die.  I die cut that beautiful dove against the window. The hearts are dies also.   I really like the soft look.  Stamping on the vellum was not easy, but I like the look of it also.

Do you make sympathy cards for your stash or on an as needed basis?

Card stock:  Recollections 110 lb. and 60 lb.
Vellum:  The Paper Studio
Dies:  Unknown (borrowed)
Stamp:  Close to My Heart
Ink:  Memento Grape Jelly

  1. Hey Sheila - good idea for a Sympathy card - makes it a little softer and more interesting than a one layer card I think! Always need to stock pile these!

  9. You did fabulously on this design, and it is a perfect sympathy card as well. The vellum is so elegant with your purple die design, and it certainly makes the background stenciling look very lovely as well. I always say I'll make some of this type of card to be ahead of when I need them, and then I never seem to get round to it. So good for you on that as well! TFS & hope the weather is as nice in your area as our afternoon is. Hugs & have a great weekend.
