Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog #338-Anniversary

Good day, crafty friends!  This time our challenge at FCCB is to create an anniverary project.  I have made a card for my sister and brother-in-law who are celebrating their anniversary this month.  As usual, I have made a clean and simple card:

I used Everyday Pop Up Cards for the rings and Artbooking for the frame around the rights.  The background paper is from my stash - a friend actually gifted me with that beautiful sparkly paper.  The sentiment is from an old Inkadinkado set which I have had for years and years.  I added clear Wink of Stella to the rings so they sparkle like the background paper.  I am quite pleased with the result.  Hopefully, my sister and her husband will like it.  It's in the mail but they don't look at my blog so it's ok that I posted it now.

Make a project using anything Anniversary related. But there has to be a least one cut from the Cricut Library!

613 Avenue Create October 2018 - Option Use Something Wooden

We're having fun using wood elements on our projects this month at 613 Avenue Create.  I looked through my stash and found some wooden embellishments that are really cute.  But I have no idea where I got them - that's how long I've had them. Do you have things like that in your stash??

My card is quite CAS - a Distress Oxide background, with a simple sentiment and a wooden embellishment.  But I do love how it turned out.

I am not ashamed to say that I am sooo late in getting onboard the Oxide Distress Ink bandwagon.  I picked up my first one a couple of months ago at Scrapbook Expo. I only got one because it was on sale and by the time I got to that particular booth, there was only one color left. I picked it up on a whim to finally see what all the hoopla was about.

I had seen a lot of videos, but things never go as well for me as they do on whatever video I watch so I saw no reason to buy the Oxides. I have problems with regular Distress Inks, although my blending has improved.  To my utter surprise, the Oxide pad was super easy to blend!   I absolutely love using them. Since I am probably one of the last crafters on earth to try them, I will not bore you with any details except to say that I am glad I finally gave them a try. I got some on sale from Joann's and Hobby Lobby and now plan to use them a lot.

Here's my card:

I blended  Distress Oxides on white card stock.  After trimming the panel, I sprayed it with water using my Distress Sprayer, and attached it to a kraft card base.  I adhered the wooden embellishment and stamped the sentiment using my MISTI.  I really like the colors behind the openings in the wood. Done!

Distress Oxide Inks:  Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade and Abandoned Coral
Stamp:  Close to My Heart Always Grateful (retired)

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog #336 - Pumpkins

Fall is definitely in the air, although we are still having 90 degree weather in my neck of the woods.  Our new challenge at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog is to incorporate pumpkins in your design. Here's my card:

I used my Cricut  to cut the pumpkins from white card stock and colored them using my Spectrum Noir Markers.  The leaves were also colored with my SN's.  I used Distress Inks to color the card front and stamped the sentiment using a retired Close to My Heart stamp (masking off the lower part of the stamp).  The sequins were a finishing touch.

Cartridge:  Winter Collection Thanksgiving
Card Stock:  Recollections 110 lb and 65 lb
Stamp:  Close to My Heart (retired)
Spectrum Noir Markers: OR1, 2, 3; TN5, 7, 8; GB4; CG4,  JG1, LG5, DR2

Make a project about pumpkins. But there has to be at least one cut from the Cricut Library!
