30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 30!!!

Yippee!!!  This is the final day of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge and I made it through!!  It was both easier and harder than I thought it would be.  I still have a lot to learn about coloring with my Spectrum Noir markers, but I've learned that I learn best through using them.  How about that?!  There are definitely some color combos that I need to work on blending.  The lighter shades are easier than the dark ones.  I know paper matters greatly. So do inks. And, of course, I need new and more stamps to color - LOL!!

I discovered this darling free digital image of peeps for Easter  (here). I have wanted a stamp of peeps for ages, and somehow never got around to ordering one.  I added the bow tie.  It's from a Waffle Flower set called Congrats.

I am so glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone to take part in Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  I had my ups and downs, but overall I truly enjoyed it.  I do feel that my skills are improving.  I'm determined to keep getting better.

30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 29

So today is day 29 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  I colored some images from a Recollections stamp set that is years old.  I used another robot in this set once, I think.  Other than that, the set has just been on a shelf, unused.  I have been seeing the galaxy background on blogs which brought these images to mind.  I'd like to give that a try and use my space images.

These small images were cute and fun.  I definitely want to do something with them.  One more day to go, folks!!

30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 28

This darling little bunny in a tea cup is a free digi from Craftin' Desert Divias that I picked up a couple of days ago.  I'm not sure if it's still free, but you can check the site.  It's called Bunny Latte.  Isn't it the cutest thing?  I have entered it in Day 28 at the 30 Day Coloring Challenge - yippee!

I used my Spectrum Noir markers, then cut it out after dusting around the image with yellow chalk.  I just laid it atop the snippet of paper in order to take the picture. I believe the paper is digital paper that I used on another project some years back.

30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 27

These little flowers are my Day 27 project for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  They are part of a Sizzix/Graphic 45 set that includes a tea pot, tea cup and a spoon with matching dies for all.  The set was a gift from my son a few years ago.  I've used the teapot stamp before, but never the flowers.

I will use the dies to cut out these flowers and make a card.  I'll be sure to show you when I do.  I hope you're able to do some crafting and/or coloring today.  Make it a great one!

30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 26

Welcome to my Day 26 post for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. I had a very busy day, so I am very grateful to have gotten a chance to color a bit tonight.  For a while, I thought I might not make it!

I colored two small images from a Recollections set.  There are matching dies for the flamingo and pineapple.  I just finished coloring them a little while ago, and I'll be darned if I can find the set now to tell you the name.  What's up with that?!

I can see myself working with these images more.  It's a cute set and will make some fun cards.  I hope you have a good week.

30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 24

Welcome to my Day 24 project for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  Wow, it will be all over in just under a week.  Amazing!  I chose a digital rose from a free site.  I'm sorry, but again, I don't know exactly where I got it, but I do know it was free.  I apologize to the artist.

This image has a lot of shading already, making it easy to color.  I cut it out with a Sizzix die so it is ready to pop on a card base.  Love it!!

30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 23

I'm here to show you my Day 23 project at the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  This time I used a Close to My Heart stamp that is retired.  After using my Spectrum Noirs, I cut it out with a Tim Holtz die, dusted it with chalk while it was still in the die, then mounted it on another cut from the same die set.  It's card ready.  I just have to decide what kind of card it will become.

I hope you're having a wonderful day!

30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 22

Hi, Crafty Friends!  Greetings from me and my little sock monkey friend.  I had this digi image for years and do not know where I got it.  I apologize for not saving it properly with the name and/or artist. I think it's adorable and colored it for a little girl.

We don't have many days left to the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  It's hard to believe how far we've come!

30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 21

I did a small amount of coloring for Day 21 of the 30 Day Color Challenge.  These are images from Fawn Lawn's Baked with Love set.  I think I've had this set about 2 years.  This is my first time inking any of the delightful stamps.  Again, these small images presented a bit of a problem for me.  But I like how they turned out, although I had to color the mixer twice before I got it to my liking.

I think this images are so cute and fun.  I look forward to making a card with them.  Enjoy your day!

Another day, another colored image - it's Day 20!  This time I completed a card for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  I love to line dance so this is a favorite image of mine by Robert Jackson.  It's called Doing the Wobble.  The image actually depicts a number of ladies dancing, but I fussy cut the dancer in front since I had made a card with the entire group previously.  This card will go to a line dance friend for her birthday.

I'm going to enter this card in a few other challenges also.

30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 19

This 30 Day Coloring Challenge is amazing.  I'm checking in with Day 19!  I colored an image using a Rubber Necker stamp I've had for years.  I bought it at a stamp show because I really liked it.  But then I realized I should color it.  I was intimated so never used it.  I decided to it was about time to step up and break out my Spectrum Noirs.

I think she is so pretty!  I would love to wear an outfit like that on a summer day.  But no matter how hot it is, I don't do sleeveless any more - LOL!

30 Coloring Challenge Day 18

It's Saturday, and time for Day 18 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  These little fish images are from a Recollections set I purchased many years ago and, you know what's coming:   I never used it before.  I'm finding smaller images are difficult for me to color because they are small.  But these fish will make a cute card after I fussy cut them and design a scene.

I wasn't as successful at shading as I wanted to be, but overall I'm satisfied.  And I'll just keep on keeping on.

30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 17

I have another card today for my entry for Day 17 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  I colored a birthday cupcake for my niece, my nephew's wife.  This card is late, but it will get to her soon, I promise. The cupcake is a Cricut cut from the Close to My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge with coordinating stamp. In addition to coloring the cupcake with my Spectrum Noirs, I inked through a stencil to create the background panel.  I added a sentiment and side border in addition to putting some WOS on the frosting to complete the card.

The days coloring just fly by, I tell you.  Have you been able to enter and play along with Kathy R and the rest of us?

30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 16

Welcome to Day 16 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  I needed a birthday card for a friend so I decided to do some more loose water coloring of the Cling Cyclamen stamp by Stampendous.  I used Distress Inks again, but pinks this time.  (I previously colored this image in red for Day 11 here.)  So I actually finished a card instead of just coloring the image and saving it for later. I used a stitched die to cut out the panel after water coloring the flowers, mounted it onto some DP and then onto the card base.  I added the die cut sentiment and some sequins.

This loose water coloring technique is fun.  I definitely found it relaxing and plan to use it more in the future.  It gives a nice soft look to images.

Card stock:  Recollections 110 lb white
Designer Paper:  My stash
Inks:  Distress Worn Lipstick, Spun Sugar, Mowed Lawn & Crushed Olive; Memento Tuxedo Black
Dies:  My stash (happy birthday) & Fawn Lawn Stitched Rectangles
Sequins:  Pretty Pink Posh

In addition to posting at the 30 Day Coloring Challenge, I also entering some others.
