613 Avenue Create #161-Anything Goes-Twist: Use Something from Your Stash

Great news - today's challenge at 613 Avenue Create has the option to Use Something from Your Stash in addition to being Anything Goes.  This is old hat for me because I almost always use something from my stash on my cards. I could - like a lot of you - make cards for years to come without buying anything new - LOL!!  Of course, that doesn't keep me from buying new stuff. Somehow, I keep a lot of it so long that it becomes part of my "stash!"  Does that apply to you too?????

Anyhoo - here's my card using the image Mama Mouse and Pie from Toadstool Printables. (Ppinky Dolls is our other sponsor.)  I've never used a mouse image on a project before, so this is a stretch for me. I do like how it turned out.

The cardstock and DP are from my stash. So is the sentiment - it's from a small set purchased at Michael's years ago and somehow never used. I've actually had the DP for years also, but I have used some of it before. I colored the mouse with my Spectrum Noir markers, then cut and embossed it using a Scalloped Nestabilities die. The sentiment is inked in Memento Black ink.

I'm entering these challenges:  Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge #115- Anything Goes - Add an Animal; Brown Sugar #183 - Anything Goes; and Crafting with Friends #13 - Anything Goes.

Check out what our fab DT has created for you to view and to see who won last time!  Thanks so much :)

Little Boy Card

I made a birthday card for one of the little boys who lives two doors from us. The cute kangaroo is a pre-colored die cut from a friend. He's popped up.  I stamped the sentiment using a retired Close to My Heart alpha set, cut out the letters and glued them onto the card base. The papers and Washi are from my stash.

I'm entering these challenges:  Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Create with Critters; Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge - January; and Crafting with an Attitude #11- Anything Goes.

This card was quick and easy to make. Enjoy your day!

613 Avenue Create #159-Anything Goes-Option Stylish & Elegant

Today is the birthday of our First Lady Michelle Obama. In her honor, our Anything Goes challenge at 613 Avenue Create has the option to create a stylish and elegant card.  Mrs. Obama carries herself with grace and elegance always. I'm sure she's having a wonderful birthday.

My card uses an image from our sponsor Beccy's Place - Pink Iris. The Fantasy Art of Nikki Burnette is also a sponsor. As usual, everything is from my stash. I embossed the card front and used paper doilies as a background for the flower image. The image is cut using a Nestie. I dusted the background with chalk after coloring the iris with my Spectrum Noir markers. I used a die for the sentiment. Finally, I added some pink pearls. I think this card will be my older sister's birthday card, by the way.

Please do take the time to visit, check out last week's winners, and enter this challenge.  We just love seeing your projects.

I'm entering these challenges:  A Gem of a Challenge #160- Female Birthday; Crafty Friends #23 - Anything Goes; Crafting with Friends #12- Anything Goes.

I hope you're able to get some crafting in today :)

Happy Birthday Shoe

This is my second post for today.  It's hard for me to believe I'm actually posting again-LOL!!  This is a birthday card I made for my niece.  I used a high heel shoe die that I borrowed from a friend so I don't know the name of the die, but it's truly gorgeous. My niece, as most young women do, favors, HIGH heels. I used metallic red paper for the shoe. The Recollections cardstock base is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder which I've never used before. I then dusted the card surface with dark pink chalk so it wouldn't be stark white (it's actually hard to see in the photo).  I added a neutral oval die cut behind the shoe and some snippets of a swirl die which I cut in white and colored with a Spectrum Noir marker. The sentiment is Close to My Heart. The sequins are from my stash. I think my niece will like the card - I know she'll love the shoe!!

I'm entering these challenges:  Just Us Girls #325 - Use Metals/Metallics; A Gem of a Challenge #160 - Female Birthday; and Brown Sugar #180 - Anything Goes.

Thanks so much for stopping by - have a great week!

613 Avenue Create #157-Anything Goes-Option CAS

Happy New Year, Crafty Friends!!  I can hardly believe that it is now 2016.  I don't really make resolutions, but I do try to change some things for the better in the new year.  I want to blog more regularly in 2016. I hope to try new techniques and card styles.  I want to enter challenges again.  We'll see how it goes - LOL!!

This week at 613 Avenue Create our Anything Goes challenge has the option to create a CAS card or project.  That's nothing new, because all I ever do unless challenged to do otherwise, is create CAS projects.  Anything else is extremely difficult for me.  Here's my card using just one pre-colored image from Melonheadz Illustrations Stand Ye in Holy Places.  (Eureka Stamps is a sponsor also.)  I made this card for one of my line dance teachers who is retiring in March.  She loves cowboy boots. It's safe to show the card now because she doesn't know anything about my blog.

All papers are from my stash.  I created my own DP by painting white Recollections cardstock with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink. I love the ombre look that I created. (Actually, at first I tried sponging the ink onto the cardstock, but it looked terrible so I decided to use the ink as paint on my craft sheet.)  I used an embossing folder to put dots on the circle which I cut with a Nestie. The boots are fussy cut and popped up. I used a Sizzix die (Jutebox) to cut the music notes.  (BTW, both dies are new - never been used before.) The sentiment (also popped up) is Close to My Heart - I used a scrap of the paper I made when I sponged the ink.  It's hard to see, but the star on the boot has a touch of clear Wink of Stella.

I will be back to enter some challenges:  4 Crafty Chicks-Anything Goes; Crafty Friends #22 - Use Something New; and Scrapper's Delight #51- Anything Goes.

Be sure to check out the DT's inspiration on the site. And you'll definitely want to see who won the last challenge.  Happy Crafting!
