JDE Final Challenge: Color

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! The new and FINAL challenge has started at JDE.  The challenge blog will close New Year's Eve, December 31, 2012. Robert Jackson has decided to go a different direction with his art and so will no longer be our resident artist.  We've had a lot of fun working with Robert and wish him the best in the future.

Go over the the JDE site to see our winners and to find out the colors of our last challenge. Thanks for all your support :)

Chana and Kathi of the DT have started another challenge blog. I and other DT members decided to join them.  The blog is 613 Avenue Create.  Our first challenge starts January 6, 2013!  We hope to see you there!

JDE Sketch Time

sketch
Here you see the sketch  we have for you at  Jackson's Digital Expressions  today.   Bugaboo is our sponsor. I made a Christmas card using this sketch, which I changed a bit.  After coloring the image, I glittered the ribbon, which, unfortunately, doesn't show up well in the picture. It looks a bit frosty in real life.

Here's my card:

Be sure to click over to JDE to see what inspiration the DT has created and to find out the winners of our last challenge.

I've entered my card in the following challenges:  Eclectic Ellapu (Jolly & Bright); Mema's Crafts (Anything Goes) and Make it Monday (Anything Goes).

JDE Challenge #34 Inks and Such

Happy Tuesday Morning!  It's time to use any color medium to make any kind of project using a digi stamp for our new challenge at JDE. DigiDarla Designs is our sponsor.  As always, you'll want to see our winners of last week's challenge - it might be you!  I'll be back later with a card I've made.

JDE Color Challenge Time

Hi, Friends,

It's time for a color challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions. Our colors are red, black and white, and I love them! Bugaboo is our sponsor.  I fell in love with Mr. and Mrs. Claus - they are an adorable couple. I decided NOT to color the image - I wanted to try something new. I think it turned out quite nice. Everything is from my stash. I stamped small snow flakes on the black paper and used a Sizzix embossing folder for the background.  I embossed the sentiment - haven't used embossing powder in quite some time. I think I'll make more of these cards to send to friends/family. Visit JDE to see last week's winners and the DT inspiration for this challenge. I entered the following challenges:  Clearly I Stamp (CAS); Tammy's Scrapin Corner (Let it Snow); Mema's Crafts (Anything Goes Winter/Holiday theme optional); and Addicted to CAS (code SNOW).

Supplies:  Cardstock my stash; Sizzix Dot Embossing Folder; Ink: CTMH White Daisy and Black, Versamark Water Mark; Stampendous Detail Black Embossing Powder; Stamps:  CTMH Holiday Magic and Glory to God.

CAS Challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions

Hi, Everyone!  I have a card for the new CAS Challenge at JDE using patterned paper.  I've used Robert's image Finishing Touch.  I did my best to create a bit of shadow on the snowman - how do you think I did?

The cardstock and the two DPs are from my stash. I inked the edges of the DP and my image in Memento Danube Blue ink.  I used watercolor pencils for the image. The sentiment is from Close to My Heart - Holiday Trinkets (retired, I think).  I stamped the sentiment in my new ink purchase - Pearlescent Sky Blue by Tsukineko.  (Last weekend I used a 50% coupon from Michaels.)

As always, go to the site to see what the rest of the DT has created and to see who won last week's challenge. Our sponsor is Bugaboo.

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:  Cards by Lady Anne (Anything Goes), Crafty Bloggers Network (Christmas Anything Goes), The Paper Girls (Christmas or Winter) and Addicted to CAS (code word SNOW).

By the way, I hope everyone has a nice and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Sketch Challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions

We have a wonderful Sketch Challenge at JDE this week.  I used the sketch to create a Halloween card using Robert's Pumkin Patch image.  I cut out the image after coloring it and adding a bit of glitter glue. It's hard to see, but my moon is cut out of sparkly cardstock.  All papers are from my stash.  I decided to put a spider web across the bottom instead of using a fence.  The moon and spider web are cuts from my Cricut. My sentiment is a sticker from my stash.  I like that Halloween isn't just black and orange any more. I love the green and purple. As you might have guessed, my grandson is the intended recipient.

For some reason, I'm unable to load the sketch, but you can see it at JDE along with what the rest of the DT has made with Robert's images and images from our sponsors Bugaboo Stamps and Guylou's. Have fun looking at all the cool projects!  Link up your entry - one lucky participant will win a special "Thriller" prize!

I'm entering some challenges:  Ink It Pink Challenge #15 (Fall or Halloween) and PaperPretties (Halloween).

Altered Art at Jackson's Digital Expressions

Good Morning, Friends!  It's altered art time at JDE. This week, we're challenging you to be inspired by Fall and make it a hanger.  Be especially creative with the hanger part - interpret it any way you want.  Our sponsors this week are Sweet N Sassy Stamps and Eureka Stamps. Be sure to go to JDE for a look at what the DT made - you will love what you see!

Pink or Breast Cancer Awareness at JDE

Hi, there!  I've been missing due to computer problems which I believe are solved now.  I'm back just in time for the new challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions in honor of Breast Cancer Month (October).  The Inks and Such Team has created some beautiful projects.  Please click on the link to see them.

Chana, the DT leader, along with a few other DT members, will donate $0.25 for breast cancer research for every entry of the challenge this week.  And, if you enter at JDE and at Mema's Crafts, you'll be contributing to breast cancer research twice.  Lesia, Mema's owner and JDE DT member, will donate $10.00 for every 40 entries in her monthly challenge.  How generous!

Your participation will help defeat this disease. Thanks in advance for joining in the fight against breast cancer.

Here's my card:

Everything is from my stash.  I did random stamping on white cardstock to create the card base.  Then I used pink cardstock behind my ribbon (added a small flower to the ribbon) and stamped my sentiment on pink DP. I'm sending this card to my sister-in-law next month.  She's a breast cancer survivor.

I'm entering this card in Mema's challenge and Make it Monday.

CAS at Jackson's Digital Expressions

Happy Tuesday! We have the CAS Team on display today at JDE using Robert's images and images from our sponsor, Bugaboo.  Be sure to visit the site to see what the DT has made. You will love what you see!  My first card uses Robert's Back to School image. I'll send this to my grandson!

Supplies:  Cardstock: Marcos Paper; die cut: gift from a friend; Stamp: Hero Arts Anytime Messages; Ink: CTMH Black Dye Ink; Sharpies

I also made this card using Bugaboo's Stick Horse image - he's so cute!

Supplies:  Cardstock: Marcos Paper; DP: CTMH, Recollections; Stamps: CTMH Celebrate the Everyday; Buttons: My stash; Sharpies.

I always smile when I read about how some folks struggle with making a Clean and Simple card - that's all I ever make.  Not that mine are great examples of the CAS style - I simply don't know how to make any other kind!!

I will enter my cards in a few challenges as soon as I have time.  Enjoy your day!

Blog Candy at Mema's Crafts

Congratulations to my fellow JDE Design Teamie, Mema, who has just reached her goal of 300 followers and has some great blog candy up for grabs. Mema (Lesia) is a wonderful artist. Her creations are always so beautiful. The inside of each card is as gorgeous as the outside. If you're not already a follower, you should become one.  Click on the link and check out the candy she's offering. And believe me, she will amaze you with her creativity.

Sketch Time & Birthday Celebration at JDE

Today we have another Anything Goes Challenge with an optional Sketch twist at Jackson's Digital Expressions. We have two sponsors this week,  The Cutting Cafe and Bugaboo Stamps.  Check JDE to see the DT's inspiration and find out our winners from last week. Here's the optional sketch:

My first card is a Robert Jackson image:  Just Purses 2.  I entered into the challenge at Make it Monday.

Supplies:  Image: RJ's Just Purses 2; Cardstock & DP, my stash; Ink:  CTMH Tulip; Nestabilities Oval Die; Stamp: CTMH Birthday Script.

Then I made another card - this one to celebrate Robert's Birthday - August 29.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ROBERT!!! Robert shares his birthday with a twin sister Kezia. To celebrate, there will be Surprise Gifts throughout the week.  And, if you want a Big Shot, go to the JDE site and leave a comment which includes the phrase "I am an Expressions Big Shot."  Your name will be entered into a special drawing!!

I entered this card in the Whoopsiedaisy Challenge. I used the same sketch, but changed it up a bit. My image is from the It's About That Time Printable Stamp Set at The Cutting Cafe. I think the clock is a nice masculine touch in this case. It doesn't really show in the picture, but I brushed all the cut edges and cardstock with distress ink. I hope Robert likes it!  And Happy Birthday to Kezia, too!!

Be sure to join the celebration at JDE!!!

Supplies:  Cardstock & DP: My stash; dies: CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge; Ink: Tea Dye Distress Ink; Stamp: CTMH Celebrate the Everyday (promotional stamp set); Bic Mark-Its.

Happy Birthday for a Friend

Today's card is one I made for a friend celebrating her 50th birthday last week.  My friend liked it, I'm happy to say.  I've entered it in Mema's challenge, my third and final entry.  Since I used kraft cardstock, the ink colors are muted, but they are red and blue. I rather like the muted look. Again, I photographed it outside - the light is so nice.

Supplies:  Stamps: CTMH Stamp of the Month (sometime in 2011), Friendship Alphabet; Inks: CTMH Tulip and Dutch Blue; Cardstock and Bling: My Stash

An Old Card

This is a card that I made before I had my own blog.  At the time, I actually posted it on two other blogs - a challenge blog with a link to my card on a community blog. That's how I got my feet wet with regard to challenges and blogging in general. (How many times have I used "blog" or a variation?!)  I don't remember details of the card, but I can tell you that all products are Close to My Heart, with the exception of the raffia. Since it's not new, I'm not entering it in any challenges. I hope you like it!  (BTW, I have a new more cards that I posted on community blogs as I did this one. I'll post them here from time to time.)

Supplies:  CTMH

JDE Anything Goes Challenge #19

Good Morning!  I hope you've had a chance to visite JDE to see the new challenge and the winners of the last week's challenge.  The new challenge is STRUT YOUR STUFF - use you favorite coloring medium to create something.  There aren't any optional twists this week. We do have a new sponsor, The Cutting Cafe. This week the DT is using the It's About That Time set from our sponsor along with Robert's images. As always, there are some amazing projects on display.

Another Card for Mema's Crafts

This is my second post for today - that's something new for me :)  I wanted to post another card for Mema's Challenge - Anything Goes with a Twist of Red.  I made this card long before I ever thought of having a blog. I may not have even known about blogs when I made it.  The stamp belonged to a friend so, again, I don't know the name.  But I love the image.  All the papers are from my stash.  I used a Fiskars corner punch that also embossed.  And I added Stickles to her ankle bracelet and earrings. I took the photo outside on the deck.

I've made mention that I line dance, but I also perform African dance, which is why this image is so special to me. (I could go on and on about my passion for dance, but I'll not do it now.) There are people I could have given this card to, but somehow I haven't been able to part with it ... yet.  You will notice that there is no shading on this image.  I used Bic Mark-Its, and I DIDN'T KNOW A THING ABOUT SHADING!!!  There, I've come clean and admitted it. I colored an image and was totally ignorant about shading and light and blending and so on.  It wasn't until I discovered card making blogs that I found out about the artistry of coloring. My dancer looks as if a child colored her, and I know she'd look prettier if she were properly colored, but I love her so much that I just don't care. I hope the lack of artistic flair doesn't bother you.

By the way, I'm sure it's obvious that even though I now know a bit more about coloring as an art form, I don't do much better, but at least I try!

Supplies:  Bic Mark-Its, Fiskars Corner Punch, Stickles, My Stash

JDE Color Challenge

It's Tuesday, so it's Challenge Time at Jackson's Digital Expressions.  Our Anything Goes Challenge Twist is a color challenge:  Lavender, Green, Tan and White.  I like this kind of challenge because I often struggle with color - this eliminates some of the stress. How do you feel about color challenges?

Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps - they have so many fun images.  The DT has some wonderful art for you.  And hopefully, you won a prize in last week's challenge! Check things out.

Mema's Anything Goes Challenge

Hi, All, I decided to enter Mema's Challege - Anything Goes with a Twist of Red.  I actually made this card a while ago while at a friend's house.  I used her dress stamp, so I don't know its name.  I stamped the image with CTMH Tulip Ink and then popped it up.  The card base is white and so is the background paper on which the dress rests.  I stamped it using Stampabilities Cling Rubber Stamp called Fleur De Lis. I used CTMH Black Ink, and I added some Stickles for a bit of sparkle.  All papers are from my stash. I took the picture outside - great light! This will probably end up going to one of my nieces.

Be sure to check out Mema's Blog - she has great challenges and fun prizes. I hope to enter this card in a few more challenges a bit later in the week.

Supplies:  CTMH Black Ink, CTMH Tulip Ink, Stampabilities, Stickles, Mema's Crafts

Butterfly Card for my Friend

A dear friend is having a bit of a struggle lately.  She's a wonderful, thoughtful and kind person, and she's one of my line dance instructors.  So I made a card that all of us in her class can sign and give to her. I really hope it brightens her day.

And here's a closeup of the sentiment:

I'm entering this card in the following challenges: Make It Monday (Anything Goes), Paper Crafting Journey (Anything Goes), and Scrapbook Sisters (Things with Wings).

Supplies:  Stamps: CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy Bundle, Card Chatter - Sympathy; Cardstock: Recollections; DP: Colorbok; Martha Stewart butterfly punch; Ink: CTMH Blush; Pearls: Recollections.

JDE Anything Goes with a Sketch Twist

Happy Tuesday!  Jackson's Digital Expressions has some good things going on today:  Our sponsor - Bugaboo Stamps - is offering this week's winner 7 digital images!  Our challenge is Anything Goes, but the twist is to use a sketch. The team's designs and projects are fabulous. Be sure to take a look.  Here's the sketch:

Sketch 10 3 color combo

I decided to use Robert Jackson's "Mrs." image.  She's an old fashioned school teacher.  My teachers in grade school did not look like her, but believe me, they channeled her mentality!  I think I'll send her to my grandniece along with a back to school gift card. Here's my take on the sketch:

Supplies:  Inks: CTMH Black, Memento Lady Bug; Copics; Bic Mark-Its; White Gel Pen; Blending Pen; Marvy Scallop Circle Punch; Ribbon: Michaels; Cardstock & DP: my stash; Stamps: CTMH Beautiful Day; CTMH Liquid Glass; Pop Dots

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:  Make It Monday (Anything Goes), Tammy's Scrappin Corner (Anything Goes), One Stitch At A Time (Use a Digi), and Mema's Crafts (Anything Goes).

And don't forget that this is the last week of our month long challenge - make sure you enter!

Beachy Birthday Card

This is a birthday card that I made for my youngest son.  He loves the beach so I thought this was appropriate.  Everything came from my stash. I don't know who made the palm tree stamp that I stamped, colored and fussy cut. The sun is a circle punch with Stickles. And I hand cut the sand and inked the edge.  The sentiment is from CTMH.

My son liked the card and I hope you do, too!  I entered my card in two challenges:  Make It Monday (Anything Goes) and Alphabet Challenge Blog (For Men Only).

CAS Card

This evening I worked on a single card for two CAS challenges - Less is More (#76 - one layer, three of anything) and Cas-ual Fridays (CFC 61- use strips of color or pattern).  I've never entered a challenge at either of these sites, although I look at them every week.  So I got up my nerve, finally, and decided to enter:

Supplies:  Cardstock: my stash; Inks: CTMH Pear and Dutch Blue, Versa Magic Spring Pansy; Stamps: CTMH Live Life (Lucky Workshop of the Month), True Friends.

I like the script detail on the parenthesis. The middle one is Spring Pansy, a lavendar color. It shows up darker in real life than in the photo.  I love the colors.  It could be for a man or a woman, and I could easily use a different sentiment.  I think this design is very versitile.

Sympathy Card

Today I have a sympathy card. I'm one of those cardmakers who makes sympathy cards as needed. I just can't bear to have a stash of them. I know some folks prefer to make them in advance of need, but that just doesn't work for me. I think they are hard to make under any circumstances, don't you?

I decided not to color the stamped image. To me it appears more delicate that way. This time I shot the picture in my kitchen with backyard in sight through the window. My table is glass so you can see a slight reflection. It was slightly overcast so it was dark in the house. I needed as much natural light as I could get. Click on the image for a better view.

Supplies: Cardstock: My stash; Stamps: CTMH Lovely Lily, unknow wood stamp (sentiment); Ink: Memento Grape Jelly; Sizzix Dots embossing folder; pop dots.

Color Challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions

We have a new sponsor at JDE this week - A Day for Daisies.  Some of our DT are using images from ADFD in the challenge.  The color twist at our Anything Goes challenge at JDE this week is to use Purple, Red and Blue. I thought I would have a hard time with this color combo, but I really didn't.  I used Robert's "With All Her Might" image. I think the woman could be singing or she could be preaching. But whatever she's doing, from her body language, you can tell she's doing it With All Her Might:

Supplies:  Cardstock, Ribbon & Bling: My stash; Sentiment: CTMH Card Chatter Sympathy; Bic Mark-Its, Watercolor Pencils, Blending Pen; Fiskars Corner Punch; Corner Chomper.

Go on over and see all the projects the DT has created.  You're in for a treat! And don't forget our month long Anything Goes Challenge #11.  It ends August 6 so you have lots of time left to win some great prizes. At the end of our month long Party, we will have a special drawing from all eligible entries.  The winner will win a Sizzix Big Shot and the entire July Image Release.  But remember, you have to be a follower to be eligible!

On a side note, I just want to say that it feels good at use my stash! I've entered my card in these challenges:  Make it Monday (Anything Goes),  Crafty Creations Challenges (Free for All),  Word Art Wednesday.

JDE's JULY RELEASE PARTY and CAS ANYTHING GOES

I've got lots of news regarding Jackson's Digital Expressions in July:  Robert has created 6 new images for the Design Team - you could win all 6.  The site will have "Featured" Designers and the Design Challenge IS ALL MONTH LONG.  Additionally, there's a Mini Blog Hop July 6-8. There will be weekly prize drawings and surprises throughout the month, plus a Bonus Mystery Prize for someone.  Finally, we have fabulous new sponsors and new Design Team members.  You will want to join in and have a great time with us.

This week's Challenge from the CAS team is Anything Goes with a twist - A Rose by Any Other Name.  We would love it if you put a flower or flowers on your card, but not a rose. My card uses a particular favorite image of mine called Doing the Wobble.  I absolutely love to line dance.  In fact, I line dance at least 3 times a week and usually more.  I take classes, belong to a line dance club, and attend work shops and jamborees regularly.  I am one dancing sista, believe me!  So I had to have this image.  The Wobble is an old line dance, but it is immensely popular - folks of all ages dance it everywhere.  I love this image and this card!  It makes me want to dance!!  If you don't Wobble, learn it - you'll have big fun!

Supplies:  Cardstock:  my stask; Stamps:  Hero Arts Cling-Musical Clef, Recollections, CTMH Atomic Lower Case; Copics; Sharpies; Bic Mark-Its; Sankura White Jelly Roll Pen; Ink:  CTMH Blush, Memento Grape Jelly; Flowers: CTMH White Daisy Just Blooms.

I entered my card in some challenges:  Make It Monday (Anything Goes),  The Crafty Bloggers Network (Anything Goes), Mema's Crafts (Anything Goes), and Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenges (Anything Goes). Create a project and link it up at JDE.  You don't want to miss out on a good time and some great prizes!

How I Stretch My Stamps at Virginia Lu's Blog

The talented Virginia Lu is sharing again - she's presenting free lessons on stretching your stamps.  And there's a challenge - enter your project and you could win.  This first lesson concerns using a partial image or part of a background stamp.  Here's my card:

I liked cutting off the width of my hexagon stamp.  This allowed me to add pearls in the white spaces which might not have worked had I not used a partial image.

Supplies:  Cardstock: Marco's Paper, Recollections; Ink: Versa Magic Purple Hydrangea; Stamps: CTMH Wicked and For Every Occasion; Pearls: Recollections.

Mema's June Challenge

The June Challenge at Mema's Crafts is Just Words - no images allowed.  The words are the focal point.  I had fun with this challenge. I'm really proud of this card because I used scraps to make it.  While the design is CAS, I think the DP makes it appear less CAS than it really is.  Anyway, here's my card:

Supplies:  Cardstock: Recollections; DP: CTMH Magnifique; Ink:  CTMH Pacifica; Sentiment: CTMH I Am (promotional stamp set); Punches: Marvy Scallop Circle (1-1/2"), EK Success Circle (1"); Pearls and Brad: Recollections; Misc: Pop dots, Corner Chomper

I'm also entering this card in challenges at Make It Monday and Word Art Wednesday

Altered Art Challege at Jackson's Digital Expressions

I'm posting the newest challege at JDE a bit late because this has been a crazy week for me.  This week's challenge is, of course, Anything Goes.  Try your hand at altering an object.  The DT has done a great job.  Go to the site for inspiration and to see last week's winners.

And don't forget our Design Team Call - you could be chosen!

One Layer Wednesday 92

I've entered the OLW Challenge. This time we were to stamp to the edge, but not over. It's not easy to see in the photo, but the flower centers have Stickles which look quite nice in real life, and there are gems next to each bouquet on the end of the card.  A little bling is a good thing, don't you think?

Supplies:  Recollections CS; Inks:  Versa Magic Chalk Perfect Plumeria; Stamps:  CTMH From Me to You, Inkadinkado Wedding/Marriage; Diamond Stickles; bling.

Design Team Call at Jackson's Digital Expressions

Hi, Everyone!  Jackson's Digital Expressions is looking for new DT members.  We are working hard on making JDE a premier challenge site and would like a few more dedicated crafters to help us do so.  You don't need DT experience so don't let a lack of experience keep you from applying.  This is the first time I've ever been on a design team, and I can confirm that all our experienced DT members are friendly, patient, understanding and very helpful.  They've made me feel right at home and have given me lots of help and many useful tips. Click on the above link, then click on the Design Team Call tab on the top.  You'll find out exactly what we're looking for and what we offer.  This is a wonderful opportunity, one you don't want to pass up.  Maybe you'll be my new teamie!!

Graduation Card

It's been a while since I've had to create a graduation card.  The daughter of a friend of mine graduates from high school soon, and so I made her this card.  I had envisioned it a bit differently, but this is how it turned out.  It's CAS, as usual, and I do like it.  I hope my friend and her daughter like it.  This card could be for a boy or a girl so if I need another, I'll probably just duplicate this one.  I've decided to enter it in two challenges:  Make it Monday (always Anything Goes) and CAS-ual Fridays (Polka Dots).

Supplies:  Cardstock:  Recollections and my stash; Inks:  Stazon Black, CTMH Black, Versa Mark Red Magic Chalk Ink; Stamps:  Studio G and Stampabilities Cling Rubber Stamp, Polka Dot; Fiskars scallop punch; pop dots.

Wow!  You have to go to Jackson's Digital Expressions to see what the DT has created for our latest challenge.  It's a color challenge with the twist being to use the colors yellow, grey and blue.  The DT rocked this challenge, believe me. Yes, Virginia, I'm Inspired

I saw a fun challenge on Virginia Lu's blog.  I admire Virginia's creativity and style and visit her blog quite often.  Here's the inspiration for her challenge:

Virginia's challenge gave me a chance to use a newly purchased stamp set from CTMH - Joyful Jar.  I have to learn to take better pictures, but, anyway, here's my card:

Supplies:  Cardstock: Reflections; DP: The Paper Studio: Inks:  Memento Lilac Posies, Tangelo, CTMH Blush, Desert Sand, Sunflower, Pear, Dutch Blue; Stamps:  CTMH Joyful Jar, From Me to You; Corner Chomper, pop dots.

Holtz It Right There

The twist on our Anything Goes Challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions is to use Tim Holtz products in your project.  I decided to distress the background of my card.  I balled up the cardstock, then smoothed it out.  I swiped the cardstock with two distress inks:  Fired Brick and Tea Dye.  Then I sprayed the paper with water and dried it.  It reminds me of dye tied fabric.  My Robert Jackson image is A Lil Prayer.  She's so sweet.  I love her little curler cap.  It's hard to see in the photo, but she has 2 pink rollers in her hair!

Be sure to go to the challenge site to see what the rest of the design team created.  The projects are wonderful.  Be sure to join in - we have some great prizes, including a chance to be a Guest Designer.  I'm entering my card in challenges at Make It Monday (anything goes), Tammy's Scrapin Corner, (anything goes), and Crafty Cardmakers (distress it).

Supplies:  Inks: Fired Brick Distress, Tea Dye Distress, CTMH Chocolate; Recollections cardstock; Stamp: CTMH TLC; Coloring: Copic E35, Bick Mark-Its, Sharpies, Watercolor Pencils, Blending Pen; Flowers, my stash; water mister, pop dots.

I very much enjoy the challenges on Mema's Crafts blog.  This month the challenge is to play bingo.  My choices were blue, flowers and embossing for my CAS card.

Mema has great prizes for her challenges.  You can win a Saturated Canary gift e-certificate this time. Go to her site and join in the fun!

Supplies:  Card stock: Recollections; DP: K & Company; Stamp:  CTMH Say It in Style; Inks: CTMH Pacifica, Tsukineko Versa Magic Agean Blue; Sizzix Spring Set Flower Embossing Folder; pop dots.

It's the Weekend!

I hope you're enjoying this Memorial Day Weekend!  I'm displaying another birthday card.  This one is for a friend of mine - my first crafting buddy.  I met this sweet lady at a scrapbooking class which I decided to take to find out how to scrap.  That's when I found out scrapbooking and card making (can) go hand in hand.  She and I have been friends ever since.  We've since taken workshops together many times.  She makes beautiful cards and sends me one on my birthday every year.  We also exchange handmade Christmas cards.

Supplies:  Cardstock:  K&Company, my stash; Inks: Memento Grape Jelly, CTMH Black; Cricut Lite Bloom Cart; Ribbon & Bling, my stash; Stamps: Blessed, Birthday Script, Chart Chatter, Birthday (all CTMH); Fiskars Corner Punch/Embosser; Sharpie; Pop Dots.

It's that time again - another great challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions.  Get ready to Find Something and Alter It!!  The twist is that it should not be a card or a flat item.  But remember, anything goes, so if you don't have anything to alter, just do whatever you like.  Check out the Design Team's inspiration - they are great!

Girl Birthday Cards

Here are a couple of birthday cards I made for two of the girls in my family.  They happen to share the same birthday which, I guess, is why I didn't take separate pictures of the cards.

I used the same Close to My Heart stamp set for both the cake and the cupcakes.  Since my photography skills are not the best, it's a bit hard to see that the one on the right has cupcakes on a plate while the one on the left has a cake on a plate. One has a stamped sentiment and the other a Cricut sentiment.  Both have a bit of bling.  Clean and Simple birthday wishes.

JDE Anything Goes - Color Challenge

Today is the start of  the Jackson's Digital Expression's Color Challenge:  Peach, Yellow and Dark Brown.  I made another CAS card.

This is Robert's Dance and Praise III image.  It makes me feel church, if you know what I mean!

Go to JDE and see what the rest of the DT has created.  Remember, we want to see what you make.  There are some wonderful changes to our Challenge: Now you can enter 3 projects per challenge.  The challenge now ends at 10:30 p.m. Monday, and EVERY CHALLENGE WILL BE ANYTHING GOES!

Here's what I used on my card:  Water Color Pencils, Bick Mark-Its, Sharpies, Blending Pen, CTMH Chocolate Ink, Martha Stewart Ribbon; Sentiment: Stampabilities; Paper:  CTMH White Daisy, my stash.

Note Card

Today I've decided to post a card that I made a while ago.  I posted it on Splitcoast Stampers for entry in a challenge at memascrafts before I started my blog.  Today I decided to write a note to a friend using this card, and so decided to post it here.  It's just a cute girlfriend card, good for any occasion, which is why it has no sentiment.  I used a friend's stamp and ink so I don't know what I used, but I think my friend will like it.

I find it nice to sometimes create cards without sentiments.  Then I can either use it as a note card or add any sentiment that I would like when I have a need for that card.  Does that work for you?

In a couple of days, we'll be having a new challenge at Jackson's Digital Expressions.  Be on the look out!  I hope you entered the challenge that ends tomorrow night - hurry, it's not too late to enter our CAS challenge with a twist!

Jackson's Digital Expressions CAS Challenge: Family Matters

Hi, CAS is definitely my style.  In fact, I seldom create anything that is not CAS because that's what comes to me naturally.  When I didn't know what CAS was, I thought I just couldn't create "pretty" cards and layouts. After surfing the web endlessly, I discovered that my natural style was CAS - it had a name!! I still struggled for a while, trying to imitate other more ornate styles.  Finally, I realized I have to do me.  Here's my card:

I used Robert's "Cuddle" image. Have fun - enter our challenge!  I can't wait to see what moves you.  Go to Jackson's Digital Expressions and join in!

Here's what I used for my card:  Copics E57 and E35, CTMH Dutch Blue ink, Tea Dye Distress Ink, CTMH Make My Day stamp; CTMH Kraft CS, Recollections pearls, Bic Mark-Its, Sharpies, stipple brush.

Child's Birthday Card

This card was created for my sweet little neighbor, the middle boy of three adorable brothers.  We went to his party a couple of weeks ago.  I had fun making the card, coloring the hippos with the only two Copics that I own.

I used a few CTMH items:  Kraft cardstock, Little Reminder stamp, Chocolate ink.  Also used:  Mindy's Zoo (Autumn Leaves stamp), printed paper from my stash and Copics E35 and E57.  I love making cards for children!
